Dimension-reduction and data visualisation; applications and challenges in single-cell biology
Speaker: Laleh Haghverdi, MDC
The rapid advancement of single-cell technologies in the last decade has facilitated study of biological systems where collecting a homogenous population of cells was not possible due to technical or biological limitations, e.g., dynamical biological systems in which individual cells are not fully synchronous in their development through time. I will discuss the principles of dimension-reduction and how they can be adapted to meet the challenges in application to single-cell (transcript)omics data analysis.
